CORRECTION: The announcements in our last issue’s “Coming Up” section included one that read “George Washington ‘s greatest living biographer says good-bye to his subject. “By this the editors did not in any way mean to imply that James Thomas Flexner has moved beyond the study of Washington; to the contrary, he has been very active throughout the past year’s observances of the bicentennial of Washington’s inauguration as the first President.
