This political cartoon, created by Benjamin Franklin and originally published in The Philadelphia Gazette on May 9, 1754, represented colonial disunity preceding the French and Indian War. During the American Revolution, the cartoon was used as a pictoral representation of the importance of colonial freedom and loyalty amongst the colonists.
