TASK 10. Question the Author

This task includes a set of inquiries that students make about a text. This strategy asks students to consider figurative, connotative and technical meanings of words; the author’s intent in writing the text; and his or her success at communicating that intent. The idea of “questioning” the author is a way to evaluate how well a selection of text stands on its own, if the author has created a powerful or persuasive text and provide proof of it.
